ACG Teacher Summit, Columbia SC

Marco will be performing the closing concert and joining the summit faculty as a clinician at the 2023 Teacher Summit organized by GuitarCurriculum and Austin Classical Guitar. The event will take place at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC on July 28 and 29. More info here.

Masterclass and Recital

Marco will be teaching and performing at the GuitarFest of the New World School of the Arts in Miami. March 31st, 2023. More info here.

Appalachian Guitar Fest

Marco will be teaching a masterclass, judging, and performing the closing concert at the 25th Appalachian Guitar Fest at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. April 3, 2022. More info here.

Sergio Assad Concerto Premiere

Marco will be premiering “Voyages: The GuitaArt Concerto” by Latin-Grammy-winner guitarist and composer Sergio Assad. The event will take place on February 22, 2022 as part of the Miami International GuitArt Festival at Florida International University, hosted by Mesut Ozgen. Marco will be joined by the FIU Festival Orchestra. More info coming up.

New Featured Article on Soundboard

Check out the latest issue of Soundboard, the journal of the Guitar Foundation of America, Vol.46 No.4. Marco published a featured article: “From ordeal to opportunity: Fingering proficiency as a self-standing discipline.”

Duo Choquenza at WFU

On February 7, 2020, the department of music at Wake Forest University hosted “Duo Choquenza,” tiple players from Colombia, for a lecture and demonstration. The duo was presented by the Hispanic League.

GuitarFest 2019

The third annual GuitarFest at New World School of the Arts concluded successfully. Marco performed a solo recital on Friday, March 1. The next day, Grammy-nominated guitarist Marc Regnier worked with six students in open masterclasses, and offered a technique and Q&A session before the final students showcase recital. Already planning for the next GuitarFest!
